Throughout the Bible, God invites us, as His people, to show radical hospitality by welcoming the stranger with generosity. The Saint Benedictine Rule says "Let all guests who arrive be received like Christ." Christian hospitality has been traditionally more than having someone over for dinner and the practice helps us turn ourselves outward. It's so easy to be busy and preoccupied with our own lives and worries, to only know the people we know, to focus on all we have to do. It takes intentionality to make room in our lives and in our hearts to show the extravagant love of Christ for those that need to experience and hear the Good News of Jesus.
